Hannah Christie
Hannah is a third-year PhD candidate and Exercise Scientist at the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute at the University of Wollongong. Her tertiary studies include a Bachelor of Science at the University of Wollongong majoring in Exercise Science, where her passion for pregnancy research began. During her honours year, Hannah ran an NHMRC-funded multi-site randomised clinical trial in specific physical activity prescriptions for the management of hyperglycaemia in gestational diabetes, for which she has received many accolades. Through the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute, she has continued her research in pregnancy and postpartum to include the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on Australian postpartum mothers and spearheaded the development of a postpartum program to improve the health behaviours of women across the country.
